Dr. Stuart Titus, President and CEO of the publicly-traded company Medical Marijuana Incorporated sits down with Jorge Olson, CMO of Green Globe International Inc. (Ticker Symbol GGII), to discuss CBD products and their benefits. Medical Marijuana Incorporated is the first publicly-traded company in the US in the industrial medical cannabis space since March 2009. Since 2011 they have been a hemp and CBD company, bringing the first nutraceutical-based CBD products to the USA and world markets. The company’s sales in 2020 were 75 million dollars, with a forecasted 55 million dollars in 2022. The sales are strictly in CBD, a growing sector of the cannabis industry.
Dr. Titus has been a Hempacco investor for a couple of years now. The Hemp smokable arena will be the next big thing in the hemp and CBD world. Dr. Titus is very excited that the company is about to get into the public space arena and bring in a larger group of international investors.
Benefits of CBD
Dr. Titus explains, “CBD is wonderful for overall health and wellness benefits. CBD release supplements, an extensive self-regulatory system within us, the internal or the endogenous cannabinoid system. The system was newly discovered in 1988 but is still far underrecognized for its medical significance. We’re very excited about some studies and research showing that our bodies make our internal cannabis. Still, unfortunately, they’re very quickly degraded by normal processes and enzymes that degrade these internally produced cannabinoids. Thus, many of us become cannabinoid deficient. However, suppose we supplement plant cannabinoids all of a sudden. In that case, this large self-regulatory system has the means to gather strength and energy to communicate better with other systems within the body. And many individuals find that they move to much higher levels of overall health and wellness by taking or ingesting these plant cannabinoids.”
Dr. Titus continues, “One can take CBD every day. Many aging adults have gone from experimental use just once or twice a day to three and four times the ingesting and applying topically. So it’s been wonderful to see how many people are getting great benefits by taking CBD.”
“Where is the medical world trailing in CBD?” asks Jorge Olson. Dr. Titus responds, “There have been a lot of challenges in medicine in terms of CBD. It’s been a controlled substance for a while, making it extremely difficult to do human studies and trials. Most of the studies and research have either been done in Petri dishes or with rats in laboratories, but minimal in human study and research. Now that hemp and CBD have become legalized, those barriers are falling. So we’re looking forward to much more human study and research with CBD over time. Our company has been involved with a friendly industry group to provide information to our US FDA regarding the safety of CBD. Indeed, we’re going to be publishing the final results of this study in just another couple of weeks. It shows that medicinal CBD, unlike the pharmaceutically developed version of CBD, is not toxic to the body. It’s not harmful to the liver. We don’t see any elevated toxic liver enzymes as we do with the pharmaceutically developed version of CBD. So I think that’s essential information, particularly for the FDA and now carve out this nice regulatory pathway for CBD to be considered a dietary supplement.”
Quality Hemp Smokables
Dr. Titus is an investor and a board member of Hempacco and is excited to see the emergence of this hemp smokable arena. Hempacco has a great benefit because of the tremendous cost efficiencies they’ve been able to develop. Complete cigarette processing is now being retooled and recalibrated to produce quality hemp smokables. Smoking or the combustion of hemp has excellent bioavailability. We see about 31% bioavailability with these smokable applications just because it goes directly into the cardiopulmonary system and can be more directly absorbed into the bloodstream. With your typical ingestible CBD, we only see about a 6% level of bioavailability because it goes through the digestive tract and gets metabolized by the liver. You don’t get an excellent bioavailability; you get much more bioavailability and much more immediate when you smoke your hemp or CBD content. We believe this will not be lost on those who are regular smokers.
“I’d like to believe that bioavailability will be even greater if we got a good 20% concentration of CBD, and the hemp smokable’s bioavailability will be even greater. I’m looking forward to what we call pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies with live humans to show and prove to the community that this smoking method is a great way to absorb and utilize your cannabis,” concluded Dr. Stuart Titus.
